Tech Bit #9 – Smorgasbord Summer 2009

Tech Bit

IMG’s traditional Summer Academy receives a make-over this year. Faculty will be able to create their own Summer Academy from a Smorgasbord of workshops focusing on teaching with technology. IMG is offering ten new workshops that address topics ranging from student-to-student communications to new ways to create SCORM modules to teaching in virtual worlds.

In addition to hands-on instruction, each workshop will include a best practices discussion, Five-Minute FERPA, Five-Minute Fair Use, as well as a discussion of the practical and appropriate use in participants’ specific teaching situations.

Faculty and IT staff experienced in the topic/technology will be joining the IMG staff as instructors in many of the workshops. The format has been changed as well. Each of the one-and-one-half hour workshops will be offered twice over the summer, some will be offered three times.

For a complete list of workshop topics and registration information, please visit www.auburn.edu/img/smorgasbord. Non-teachers wishing to learn the technologies, please call IMG at 4-5181 before registering.
